A recent finding revealed that a good head start in the consumption of these levels of DHA and ARA may impact during his or her early months may impact IQ development at 4 years of age¹.

When is the best time to give your child a smart start in life?

Children who were breast-fed (average duration was 43 +/- 9 weeks) in the early months of their lives had higher IQ trends at age 4 than those who were on a diet with no DHA and ARA.

In 2007, a study was conducted with:

- Children fed an assigned diet containing DHA and ARA and
- Children who were put on a control diet not fortified with DHA and ARA.

These groups were then measured on visual and cognitive outcomes at 4 years of age.

It was found that at 4 years, the control group had poorer visual acuity and lower IQ scores than the assigned group.
